While others dig for gold, Lansing looks for the shovel

In an opinion piece about Michigan 's ailing economy, Wayne State is noted as one of the universities receiving a $275,000 grant from the 21 Century Jobs Fund - which will replace the Michigan Technology Tri-Corridor award program. The writer suggested that Lansing policymakers and pundits are not backing up their "rhetoric" about the need to move from an industrial to a high-tech economy.
